Special: Interview with Zachary Moore

Never thought you would see this day, did you?

This week’s podcast episode is going to be rather special. I have forgone the news and science topic for this week to bring you a rather lengthy Creationist Claims section which is in the form of an interview with Dr. Zachary Moore from the Evolution 101 podcast. We discuss the “Questions for Evolutionists” which can be found on Kent Hovind’s website.

Retrograde Rotation and Fossil Finds

Though I have now discovered a way to record conversations, so that Zachary Moore and I can finally do a group Creationist claim section (hopefully next week) we will again be missing the Creationist claims this week dealing with Hovind’s “Questions for Evolutionists”. Instead, there is another Creationist claim I will answer. The science topic for this week is a discussion of the many recent fossil finds that have helped to fill in some knowledge gaps previously in the fossil record.

Venus and Global Catastrophism

Dr. Zachary Moore and I have been trying to get our recording software working but with little success. So, this week will be solely a science topic podcast. The science topic for this week is going to be the planet Venus and how the predicted “global catastrophism” that is believed to have occurred on the planet is NOT evidence for, or analogous to, the idea of a global flood on Earth that Creationists tout.

Starlight and Time: The Impossibility of White-Hole Cosmology

This week will be a critique of Russell Humphreys’ book “Starlight and Time”, an attempt by Creationists to make the age of the universe compatible with a 6-day, 6000 year old interpretation of the book of Genesis. I will point out the flaws in this idea that ultimately demonstrate that, unless one relies on the arbitrary intervention of God (in which case, we are out of the realm of science), white hole cosmology cannot possibly be an explanation to the origin of the universe — let alone mention that the Big Bang Theory trumps it in regards to verifying the evidence. The Creationist Claims I will address today are five-fold. They come from Kent Hovind’s website drdino.com. They are the first of 26 “Questions for Evolutionists”.
